About The Ruins is a mansion built in the 1920s by sugar baron Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson in memory of his Portuguese wife, Maria Braga. It is often referred to as the "Taj Mahal of the Philippines". The mansion was burned down during World War II to prevent Japanese forces from using it, leaving only the skeletal frame. |

How to Go There From Bacolod City, The Ruins is only a 10-minute drive. You can order a Grab taxi through the mobile app or rent a scooter. The ruins technically sit in Talisay City but is more commonly known as Bacolod because it lands right on the outskirts |

Other Details It is recommended to visit during the dry season in the Philippines, which usually starts in November and ends around May. An hour or so before sunset is one of the best times to visit The Ruins. The temperature will be cooler and you get to see this magical attraction in daylight and during sunset. |
