AboutA hidden but accessible waterfalls in Ronda, Cebu
DirectionsHow to get there: To get to Lusno Falls, the most convenient option is to use Google Maps if you have your own vehicle. Another option is to take a bus to Ronda, Cebu, and from there, you can hire a habal-habal driver to take you to Barangay Langin 1Directions from Ronda to Lusno Falls. From there, it's a short walk or drive on a narrow, dirt road to a private parking area where you'll need to pay a 10-peso fee for unlimited parking. Finally, a brief walk is required to reach the waterfalls.

There is no clear path or signages you can follow, and so going there can be confusing. Find local kids to help guide you to the waterfalls. A snack and 50 pesos will make their day.
OthersChallenges: If you struggle with walking, the brief trek across narrow, uneven pathways of hills and rice paddies may pose a challenge for you. To access the riverbed and the waterfall itself, you will need to descend 15 to 20 steps using an improvised staircase made of earth.

Your safety: For your safety, do not visit the waterfall during heavy rainfall or the rainy season as the water level can rise rapidly without warning. The stones in the riverbed are very slippery. It is highly recommended that you wear shoes with good traction to avoid any mishaps.

Lusno Falls Day Use Review

Unlike more popular tourist destinations, Lusno Falls is secluded and remains "out of radar" to many, making it the perfect place to unwind and connect with nature. While the lack of well-established facilities may have contributed to its low popularity, it is the very reason why Lusno Falls is such a unique destination. It's easily accessible, so visitors don't have to go through the hassle of trekking through long and winding paths just to get there. Unfortunately, Typhoon Odette in December 2021 put an end to the budding plans to commercialize Lusno Falls. As a result, there are no more shanty stores or even the restrooms, which may be inconvenient for some visitors. However, the lack of commercialization also means that nature is slowly reclaiming the area, making for a more authentic outdoor experience. Visitors to Lusno Falls should be aware that they will need to bring their own food and snacks, as there are no food establishments in the area. Additionally, they should also be prepared to encounter garbage on the river banks, as no one is currently taking care of the area. If you're looking for a less touristy waterfall experience, Lusno Falls should definitely be on your list of must-visit destinations.
