Southwinds Resort Review
Planning your summer outing with family and friends? You can’t miss putting the town of Calamba in the province of Laguna among your options. Calamba is the Resort Capital of the Philippines after all.
Southwinds Resort is a fairly new addition to the hefty number of resorts in Barangay Pansol, Calamba, Laguna. It opened in 2010. It is located along the National Highway in Pansol. So, what makes it nice and why do you have to check it out?
Southwinds Resort has already established its name in the city, even if it is quite new. The owner of the resort isn’t new to the resort business anymore since they also own Sun City Resort, which has been running for several years and is one of the most known resort by the locals of Calamba and of the nearby towns.
It’s easy to get to Southwinds Resort, if you’re using your own vehicle and once you’re on the National Highway already, you can just ask locals along the way and most likely, they can give you directions on how to get to the resort. Commuting isn’t a problem either, once you arrived to the Calamba Town Proper, Southwinds Resort is just one tricycle away. The tricycle drivers know the results well, so you can just state the resort name.
It was really scorching hot at around 11:00 AM when I went to Southwinds Resort, I was with my boyfriend. We were greeted by the staff and after checking in, we were guided by a resort staffer to our room on the 3rd floor. The room is air-conditioned, the bed is well-kept, and has a cable television. The toilet and shower area are clean as well. Not bad for the ₱1, 385.00 rate of the couple’s room.
We went down to eat lunch first at their canteen, nothing to highlight in their menu though, they’re all just normal Filipino dishes. While eating, in your view are the swimming pools which will make you feel excited to jump in the there soon. The surrounding is just very warm and cheerful.
We rested on their comfortable bed and watched television for a while. A few minutes after, we prepared so we can go swimming already. The water is clean and lukewarm. They don’t have hot springs, only man-made pools. It’s what I prefer because it’s so hot already and I just want to cool down. They have 4 pools and their deepest adult pool is around 5 feet-deep. The pools are kept clean as well, even if there are many visitors, and the lifeguards are very attentive. Other amenities worth mentioning are their convenient store, videoke area, and a huge parking space.
Overall, Southwinds Resort might seem like a pretty simple resort, but it’s actually awesome. I bet it can also win you with its cleanliness and calming atmosphere and view.
