One of my plans as soon as I get a job is to try new restaurants that I haven’t tried when I was still a student. What also came as an advantage was when Fisher Mall was built near our place. So every weekend, my friend and I would have a weekly catch-up there. She is also a foodie so it is not really a struggle for us to share one of our mutual goals – to experience something new!

Last week, we had our dinner there at Pedro N’ Coi – a Filipino restaurant that gives tribute to the Pinoy culture. We found out later on that it is owned by the 2011 Ms. Universe – Philippines, Shamcey Supsup-Lee and her husband, Lloyd Lee.

What really caught our attention was the interiors of the restaurant. The setting actually reflects what an ordinary Filipino usually sees- a sari-sari store, a jeepney, a set of people dining along the “riles”, and the like.

The names of the menus also added to the Pinoy ambiance as they are labeled after the names of our local artists such as Inasal Raymundo from Ms. Ina Raymundo, Ihaw Moto from Ms. Iwa Moto, Joey De Lechon from Mr. Joey De Leon, Binagoongang Revilla from Mr. Bong Revilla, and so on. The price ranges from Php 140.00 to Php 395.00. Don’t worry as some of the main dishes are good for sharing. Their staffs are also a plus factor given that they were really attentive and courteous to the customers. However, we were not able to take a look at the 2nd floor as the place was really jam-packed but we were told that the paintings that are displayed there are for sale.

We ordered some of their best-sellers: the Kanin ni Kumander Bawang (Garlic Rice), Ihaw Moto (Chicken Barbeque), a Belly Flores (Bangus Belly), and a Bottomless Iced Tea.

They taste good not to mention that we were really hungry at that time but all things considered, I will give 4 out of 5 stars for Pedro N’ Coi.

Pedro N’ Coi is located at 3rd floor, Fisher Mall, Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City.
