Friuli Trattoria is a small Italian restaurant found along Maginhawa St. in Quezon City.
No one does pastas and pizzas better than the Italians. It’s a good thing that Friuli Trattoria is able to bring us that great Italian taste an affordable price!
Friuli Trattoria is a common go-to place for students in the Katipunan Area. You would often find this place packed with students, but there’s no need to worry. The staff is quick to find a place for you to sit in no time at all.
It’s actually amazing to watch this tiny bistro seat so many customers even during the peak hours.
When you first arrive at the place, the exterior may look a little old and worn down. The interior isn’t very inviting either, but once you actually sit down and taste the food, that’s when the magic begins.
Though aesthetics isn’t one of Friuli Trattoria’s strongest suits, they surely make up for it in taste and flavor. Loyal patrons and curious newbies alike flock to this tiny restaurant just to witness firsthand what everyone seems to be gushing about.
It’s not all hype either. There’s definitely something special about this place.
I highly recommend the Antonio’s pizza (tomatoes and mushroom) that is one of the cheapest in the menu. Don’t be fooled, however, by the simplicity because it’s very flavorful and the serving size would satisfy you given its relatively cheap price.
For pastas, I was able to try out their Spaghetti Carbonara. It’s different from the usual creamy carbonara flavors most people are used to. Prepare to experience a stronger egg flavor in this one. It can be very heavy and somewhat sticky, but you should order it if you’re looking for a sweet carbonara taste for a change.
The Tuna and Mushroom pasta was also cheap but exciting to eat. This one’s for the people out there who are looking for meatless pastas on the menu.
The serving size is big even for single serving plates. Couples or small groups of friends looking for hangouts on a budget under Php 400.00. should try out the meals here and order them for sharing.
Someday, I’d love to go back here and try their Bacon and Cucumber pizza just because it sounds like an odd combination. I’m already comfortable knowing that Friuli Trattoria just doesn’t disappoint.
