A few weeks ago, a friend of mine gifted me with a box of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Earl Grey tea. Admittedly, I am not an avid tea drinker. I am more of a coffee enthusiast, but now having tasted a cup of Earl Grey tea, I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Earl Grey Tea is one of the most popular blends in the world. This beloved tea is said to have been named after a former British prime minister. The first thing you notice when you drink Earl Grey tea is that it has a distinctive taste; it has this delightful, citrusy flavor. This is because it contains oil extracted from the rinds of Bergamot oranges.
Another thing that is great about this Earl Grey tea is that it is very aromatic. You can smell the aroma of the tea as you sip it from your cup. You don’t even need to put sugar but since I have a sweet tooth, I add half a teaspoon of sugar to my cup. Surprisingly, adding a bit of milk also tastes wonderful with this black tea. It gives it a richer taste, and compliments its exotic flavor.
Drinking black tea also has some health benefits. It has been known to relieve stress, since it has properties that have a soothing effect on your system. It also contains antioxidants that aid in lessening the free radicals that damage your body; the bergamot has antiseptic qualities which make drinking Earl Grey tea beneficial to your oral hygiene.
Earl Grey tea contains some caffeine, but it isn’t as strong as coffee, so it doesn’t give you that buzz. Having a cup of this tea simply makes you feel more energetic. It also puts me in a good mood, so I make it a point to drink a cup each day. Earl Grey from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is premium tea. As cited on the box, it originates from Ceylon. Ceylon tea is world famous for its distinctive taste and quality.
I still love my coffee, especially when I feel sleepy and tired and I need something to boost me up. However, when I want to be put in a good mood so I can just relax and unwind, I make myself a cup of Earl Grey tea.
