Who can adopt? (for Filipino citizens and aliens)
- Legal age
- At least 16 years old then adoptee (e.g. baby is 2 years old, you must be at least 18 yrs old or older)
- Has the capacity to exercise parental duties and authority
- Has a good moral character; not convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude
- Has the capacity to support, to educate and to care
- Undergone pre-adoption services
- For alien, must have a diplomatic relations with the Philippines, has been certified by their consular office that they are qualified for adopting a child, and their government allowed the process
- For alien, has been living in the Philippines for at least 3 continuous years prior to filing of the application
Who can be adopted?
- Any person below 18 years old and has been declared available for adoption
- A child whose previous adoption has been cancelled
- A child whose biological parents has died
Adoption requirements in the Philippines
- Birth and marriage certificates (authenticated)
- Written consent from the children (legitimate and illegitimate) living with the applicant who are 10 years old and older
- Health certificate, NBI or police clearance
- ITR or proof of income
- Character references
- Latest family picture and home pictures
