Red Velvet Cheesecake Review by Leonas Cakes and Pastries
I’m not a huge fan of sweets nor pastries. But when it’s that time of the month again, all I have is nothing but annoying camps and sugar cravings and I will do anything just to satisfy my temporary sweet tooth.
Like many others, my love for food is stronger than my love for my boyfriend (just kidding, love). But of course, practicality comes first. For my wants, I would choose the cheapest way of fulfilling my tongue’s desire. If the only thing that’s available is a spoonful of yummy treats, then I would gladly devour it (but expect to be craving for more in the next 3 hours). For a regular employee whose salary isn’t much, my budget is really tight. So I make it a point not to splurge on things that I can live without.
But don’t get me wrong. I like cakes. Well, I like looking at them and pretend that I am actually attracted to them. Lots of the cakes I’ve come out to be dry or too sweet and worst, expensive. 200 bucks for a slice isn’t practical at all. 200 pesos could feed an entire family already. But if you have to, spend on the things that matter, spend on the experience on delicately slicing on a fresh, creamy cake that won’t hurt your wallet.
Thank God because indeed, girls do better research than the FBI; most especially when these three things are involved: love, pain and food (best if she feels all three at the same time). I used to desperately hunt the entire mall (like a scavenger) for that one special dessert (that is just right on the budget) and after years of doing so, I’ve finally found The One.
The most gorgeous cake I’ve ever had tastes heavenly! The presentation itself makes the cake look expensive. What I like most about it is that it does not break into pieces that easily when you slice it. It is not dry and it literally melts in your mouth. The sweetness is just right and the combination of the cake and the icing is more perfect than the KathNiel loveteam.
Oh, my red velvet cheesecake in shining armor. It’s the most affordable and ‘sulit’ cake I’ve ever purchased in my life. It doesn’t cost much, but it will definitely give you the most satisfaction out of your (more or less) 70 bucks!
If you happen to come by the area, you may give my fave-go-to piece of cake a try. Leona Cakes and Pastries is located at 65 Juan Luna Ave. Mabolo, Cebu City and SM North Wing, Cebu. Enjoy!
