Kei Japanese and Filipino Restaurant Review

Are you ready for your sushi fix?

If you’re craving for some reasonably priced yet delicious Japanese food, then head on over to Kei! They serve a wide variety of Japanese food from that includes your usual sushi, sashimi, maki, noodles and bento meals.

The exterior of the shop is not as inviting as you’d like. However, the interior is much better. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. It is also very spacious, giving enough room for each party to enjoy their get-together without having to worry about their proximity to other customers. There is also a television set up to keep customers busy. So if you’re planning to eat out alone, there’s no need to worry. Kei has a bar near the kitchen area for people just like you.

In terms of service, the staff proved to be accommodating and prompt. Though they aren’t very friendly, the service was generally satisfactory. For the food, I would recommend their Philadelphia Roll and the Salmon Sashimi. Admittedly, the Philadelphia Roll’s cream cheese is not as mouthwatering as it should be. However, I believe the taste still delivered given that it’s a cheaper version than that found in well-known stores.

When it comes to serving, Kei does not hold back. Its generous servings make it worth the visit. If you’re on a slightly tighter budget, the Chicken Teriyaki Don and Katsudon make for good buys. You’ll still walk out happy with a full stomach without having to burn through your wallet.

Additionally, I’d love to go back here just to try out their Moriawase special. It’s a combination of their different sashimi and sushi on a giant bilao for just over a thousand Pesos! It’s great for sharing especially when you’re planning to have merienda with a big group.

Overall, I’d say Kei isn’t really one of those stores that you’d keep coming back to every single week. However, it’s definitely something you shouldn’t miss out on especially if you’re from the South area. Its comfortable atmosphere, delicious food and selection variety should be enough reasons for you to head out and try this place.

Kei is a small Japanese restaurant located along Gloria Diaz St. in BF Resort Village, Las Piñas City.  For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Douzo meshiagare! (Enjoy your meal!)
