Giligan’s Mall of Asia Review
The ambiance of the place is like an ocean adventure! The whole restaurant is decorated with pirates, wooden ships and barrels, nets, anchors and everything related to the sea. The view of the sea is very suitable to the restaurant’s theme because it’s located at the SM Mall of Asia By the Bay, Sunset Boulevard.
When you eat at Giligan’s Mall of Asia Complex (or in any Giligan’s Restaurant) always expect it to be crowded because besides the entertaining interior, they serve Filipino dishes. It’s enjoyable to eat at Giligan’s with your family because you are just like eating at home because of the lutong-bahay specialties. They prepared the dishes in a very Filipino way; they did not put any touch of foreign dish in the menu. The prices are very affordable and your every coin is worth the experience!
Although it’s very crowded, the very helpful waiters and waitresses will ease your hunger and impatience. But sometimes the quantity of the costumers is too many and the waiters and waitresses cannot handle them efficiently anymore. There was one time we had to do several follow-ups just to remind them that our order is taking too long. Also, my sister was asking for ketchup and tissue, she had to ask 3 different waiters and the manager before she finally got what she was asking for. I think they have to hire more waiters and waitresses.
If you want to eat alone or you’re with a friend and you guys are looking for just merienda or dessert, you will not be disappointed at Giligan’s. They provide pica pica snacks, bread, cakes, and ice cream to chew on while having a tiny chitchat! This restaurant is also suitable for big group of friends because their menu provides beers and big platters of meals. So if you want to celebrate your promotion, graduation, anniversary, birthday or anything for that matter, you can always come to Giligan’s for a great time!
The most delicious dish for me at Giligan’s is the Pork Sisig! All of the people I know always recommend that I try the Pork Sisig, so I did! It was so delicious! It is so crunchy and tasty! It tastes like heaven! The classic Crispy Pata and Liempo are also very delicious! It was so well cooked, very crispy and juicy. There was one time we ordered those and we ate up to 7 cups of rice! If you have a low budget but still wants to eat a heavy meal you can try their 99php meals where you can have unlimited rice!
The temperature of the place is a bit warm maybe because there are lots of people. Sometimes the service is bad but the quality and taste of the food will ease your frustration and anger. Happy eating!
