Buffalo’s Wings N’ Things Review in SM North EDSA
Buffalo’s Wings N’ Things is a small restaurant located near the entrance of the Upper Ground Floor of the SM North EDSA Annex … but it’s definitely big on the tummy.
To go with an order of buffalo wings, one can enjoy food like cheese burgers, chili dogs, fries, fish n’ chips, quesadillas, nachos, burritos and NY cheesecake flavored ice cream. Beverages are the usual sodas, iced tea and water. Price range of personal orders can range from P 150.00 to P 300.00. The family meal will fully satisfy four people at the price of P 1,049.00 complete with drinks.
We ordered the Family set B which consisted of nachos, fish n chips, a triple mini-burger, iced tea and dirty rice (yellow fried rice) and an option to get three different flavors of buffalo wings. Since the wings come in 12 flavors with varying degrees of spiciness, we timidly opted for the lowest levels where sweetness dominates the palette. We chose from within the first three levels by trying Honey Barbecue, The Rookie and Basil n’ Garlic.
Among all three, our votes went to the Basil n’ Garlic because the sweetness of the sauce dashed with mild pepper combined so deliciously with the garlic and basil. The nachos were awesome with thick cheese topping combined with some green pepper. The salsa has a touch of sweetness but was also spiced with green pepper. The triple mini-burger came with thick patties while the fish n chips were just as satisfying. We were planning to order the ice cream for dessert but by the end of the meal, we were too full to ask for it.
What you need to watch out for if you’re going to eat here is that it is best to use clean hands. The floor is designed with utensils embedded into cement just to remind you that wings are best eaten without them. There’s a sink to wash your hands and a full pack of paper napkins set on each table so there should be no worries. The ambiance is loud with a television showing American programs that made it conducive to happy conversations.
The service was good enough considering there were only two waitresses for more than 10 tables. The one assigned to us seemed to have a hard time dealing with too many customers but she was still very nice. While waiting for us to pay the bill, she had a little chat with my daughters and they found her very fun to talk to. With my kids enjoying their conversation with her, it seems like Hannah, our waitress, will be seeing us more often.
Overall, we found this restaurant great for a Sunday family treat with its food, ambiance and friendly service.
